Joe Weider Beta Alanine, 120 capsule jar

Product information "Joe Weider Beta Alanine, 120 capsule jar"

Beta-alanine is an amino acid that combines with the amino acid histidine after it has been taken into the body. There is always enough histidine in a protein-rich diet. Carnosine is formed from these two aminos. The primary function of carnosine is to buffer hydrogen ions.

Buffering the hydrogen ions prevents the pH value in the muscles from falling and the muscles from becoming over-acidic. Over-acidification leads to a burning sensation in the muscles and muscle fatigue. This is accompanied by muscle failure at the end of a training set. In an acidic environment, ATP (the body's fastest form of energy) only develops its energy to a limited extent.

The release of calcium, which has a key function in muscle contraction, is also strongly prevented. Higher carnosine levels allow you to force more reps, which means that heavier weights can be done with more reps.
